WEHVE is the brainchild of Gesine Holschuh, a successful social entrepreneur whose love of Uruguay and of its merino wool tradition prompted her to share this passion with international fashion leaders.
With this objective, Gesine enlisted the help of Marine Halna du Fretay, a designer for Hermès for over 20 years (at the time of Jean Paul Gaultier, Martin Margiela, Tomas Maier...). Marine took up the challenge of designing a collection that pays tribute to the softness and lightness of merino wool through modern styling with clean and simple lines.
WEHVE is also leader in sustainable and ethical fashion. The entire WEHVE collection is produced in South America by women’s collectives which operate according to established global fairtrade principles. Gesine is a board member of Fairtrade International.
